Our people make us special.

The heart of CountryHouse really shines through in our people. Our team members understand the difference between caring and giving care, and they’re committed to infusing our philosophy of treating people like family into everything they do.

Our team is handpicked for their natural empathy, then given best-practices dementia care training. At CountryHouse, our team learns each resident’s story –
their likes, their dislikes, their values, and their past – and use that knowledge to customize care and make meaningful connections with each resident we serve. Since our care is so personalized, we offer a higher staff to resident ratio.

Meet our Director – Christine Cross

Christine Cross is passionate about caring for seniors. She brings more than 17 years of experience at assisted living and retirement communities to CountryHouse Cedar Rapids. Prior to joining the Agemark family, she managed an assisted living residence for 10 years. She has also served marketing roles for independent and assisted living communities in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.

“I am honored to be a part of CountryHouse Cedar Rapids. Our mission is to treat everyone like family – our residents and their families, our employees and those who we meet in the community,” says Cross.

Christine and her husband have three children ages 19, 17 and 9 as well as a beloved dachshund, Charlie.

Phoebie Carcot, Director

Phoebie joined the Agemark team in April of 2020 to help open the newest CountryHouse Residence in Folsom, CA.

A 20-year veteran of sales and marketing, Phoebie worked previously as a realtor and owned her own business. She made a career change in 2013 and became a medical assistant. It was while working in a hospital that the desire to help impact the lives of seniors was born. Her new passion paired well with her experience as a problem solver in her sales career. First hired as an SLC, she quickly proved a valuable member of the Agemark team and was elevated to Director. Phoebie looks forward to working closely with families considering memory care, providing helpful compassionate guidance and assisting them with selecting the best care for their loved one.

“Agemark’s philosophy and core values are in line with both my personal and professional values, which made the move an easy decision for me. I love providing solutions for families in need. To help a family find a loving and compassionate care partner for their loved one is the most rewarding experience I’ve had so far in my career.”

Phoebie lives with her husband, young adult children and two dogs. In her free time, she loves to go wine tasting and hiking in the Sierra Foothills.
